Clear public education can help students, families, educators, employers, and policymakers understand where quantum technologies may matter and which skills connect to the field. The goal is practical understanding, not hype.
Connect education to careers
Career pathways can connect secondary education, technical colleges, universities, internships, apprenticeships, and employer-based learning. Strong pathways make entry points visible and help learners build progressively deeper skills.
Prepare the whole technical stack
Quantum employers may need expertise in physics and quantum information as well as optics, electronics, computer science, materials, cryogenics, advanced manufacturing, testing, quality systems, and project management.
Keep Utah talent connected
Students and researchers are more likely to remain in Utah when they can see companies, projects, mentors, and meaningful work. Stronger connections among institutions and employers can expand those opportunities as the sector develops.
Workforce and talent retention are among the seven priorities established in Executive Order 2026-06. Future pathways will be shaped with education and industry partners.
